Very nice place, welcoming hostess, great location and clean rooms. We stayed one night,but definitely would recommend ? reasonable prices ?

It is easy to underappreciate this inn, but if/when I'm back in Berkeley this is where I'll head. Very convenient location, the rooms are big and spacious. There's lots of thoughtful touches that you often don't get - good quality earbuds, a shower cap... These are things I often forget and appreciate. The room was clean and comfortable. The owner is friendly and lots of fun to chat with, sincere and clearly really personally invested in her business. A good stay!

We stayed 6 nights at the Downtown Berkeley Inn. We want to express our deep and sincere gratitude for the truly outstanding hospitality we received throughout our time here. From well before we even arrived, the hotel's owner welcomed us with much kindness, warmth, and genuine friendliness. She, together with her adult daughter and her daughter's friend, attended to our every need. Every day of our stay, they expressed care and concern about our experience while in town, and countless times they jumped at the chance to go way out of their way to help us. At a hotel, we have never felt treated as if we were family before. In fact, we felt like close relatives of the host! Additionally, it was very satisfying to be able to patronize a mom-and-pop type establishment (in this case, a hotel) -- and specifically, a woman-owned business (!) -- rather than one of the big chains that are seemingly everywhere. The owner of the Downtown Berkeley Inn is a remarkable person who takes great pride in helping others and in bringing a ray of sunshine into others' lives. Moreover, throughout our stay she kept her hotel spotless and inviting, always paying thoughtful attention to every detail. Thanks to her dedication and warmth, the hotel truly became our home away from home. We are very grateful for everything the owner and staff at the Downtown Berkeley Inn did for us. We are really looking forward to returning to this hotel many times, and we strongly recommend the Downtown Berkeley Inn to anyone seeking comfort, care, and a truly welcoming atmosphere.

Ms. Patel is AMAZING! You will not find a better hotel owner in Berkeley, PERIOD! Ms. Patel was flexible, went out of her way to make me and my Daughter fell comfortable for her first week at Berkeley, and her hospitality is second to none! This made all of the difference for our trip! Normally, I don't consider the hotel owner when reflecting on travel, but Ms. Patel was one of the "highlights" of our trip! We will be staying there everytime over the next 4 years with fail! You will not find anyone better! I promise!

Weird place, don't do it, no mini fridge, no ice machine, non-functional internet. expect to solve problems that you were not expecting. The room is clean and has the basics. A bed, bathroom, dresser, desk chair. Bed is the lowest Ive experienced. Better then on the floor but seem like some rich boy fantasy 20 years ago. The rest of the furniture is in the same place, 20 years at the newest. The short desk works, don't let me be down on that to hard , more places should do it in that style. But as a guys that's trying to solve problems . This is putting me in over time.

This is THE affordable place to stay if you have on-campus business at UC Berkeley. There were a few maintenance issues here and there, but everything important worked just fine. The room was spotless. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Water was hot. Mini split AC worked perfectly. The service was very friendly. Reservations and billing were flawless.

I had a great stay at Downtown Berkeley Inn while attending a conference at UC Berkeley. The staff was very friendly and accommodating—I was able to check in around noon without any issues and could leave my luggage after check-out to pick up later. The room was spotless, with a comfortable bed that made for a restful stay. The location is excellent, just a short walk to UC Berkeley, plenty of restaurants and cafes, and only minutes from the BART station, making it easy to get to downtown San Francisco and the airport. The only thing missing was a mini fridge, but overall, I had a fantastic experience and would definitely stay here again!

They don’t always have someone at the front desk. I lost my key card and spent 15 minutes outside at night before someone came to the desk and helped me. They should pay someone to stay at the desk.

Really great experience. Location was perfect for anything you want to do in Berkley! Staff was kind and informative. Rooms’ AC wasn’t powerful, but everything was of value! Also FREE limited PARKING!! Always a plus.

Woman at the desk was very nice. They only have 5 actual parking spots. Rooms were clean, and decently appointed. For a cheap motel it is what it is. I would stay again. 20-30min walk to the Berkeley Theater
