The SenS Hotel & Bistro receives largely positive reviews, praised for its convenient location near restaurants, markets, and BART, and friendly staff. However, there are concerns about cleanliness and potential issues with older infrastructure, particularly regarding mold and plumbing.
I love love love staying here! This has to be the most pleasant long term extended stay hotel in the area. It has the hyatt house out door naturistic setting without the hyatt house pricing. The staff is incredibly cool very family like. Safe and courteous residents. Ive stayed here months at a time with my daughter. 0 complaints.
The hotel staff is great! The bistro staff is great! Perfect location, next to Cheeseboard. Farmer's Market on Thursdays. Bay Wheels bikes around the corner. Andronico's next door. Close to campus. Walkable from BART (don't rent a car). And, the Vanne Bistro makes the best mochas and the best coffee.
First one star review on a hotel. Shower was filthy as expected. What was not expected was that the shower did not drain. Therefor all of everyone else’s before you gross gunk draining, it pooled at your feet. Water pressure was super low on the faucet, and comforter was stained with no cover. Just literally a comforter with no liner probaly in use for 10 years without a wash
Such a cute little hotel we stayed here so we could walk to a concert at the Greek and it was perfect! Staff was really nice especially Ryan. Highly recommend!
A great place to stay if you're visiting Berkeley. Not centrally located, but within walking distance of some great eateries and bakeries, without the crush found closer to the university.
The location, service and room are awesome! This will be my recommendation for everyone who visits Berkeley.
Great cozy little place, but pretty spacious rooms. A little bit older, but looks to be in very good condition, a lot of modern amenities, and well maintained. Extremely pleasant service. The young lady at the desk was very accommodating to help me out with a work related issue. Cool little café downstairs too. Would definitely stay again, and will 100% recommend.
From my experience, it's a very old-fashioned l. It's very dirty in the room's. As far as carpets, and also from experience the entire building smells of mildew. And electrical issues big time. the walls are very thin. So you hear the people who work there talking and radios playing. It's loud in the night time. There's a lot of bums hanging around outside just waiting to rob or beg you for money. You offer them food their not interested. Only my opinion, I would definitely choose a different hotel, for cleanliness, peace, and fresh air. And they can definitely do better on the service situation. This is based on opinions and experiences to enlighten.
Pretty nice and cozy. Great location, next to Safeway Community Markets (convenient for grabbing quick food items), next to and a short walk to many shots, restaurants and BART. There were a few hootches with the room, but they fixed it all. Walls are a bit thin, but, it's not the institutional chain hotel. Nice shower and lights and comfy bed. Nice balcony. Microwave and fridge and tea kettle. Big TV. The cafe downstairs is pretty good and has a great atmosphere. Very international clientele (mostly French). Yes, you do have to buzz in after hours, but someone always came to open the door right away.
We stayed here because it was close to my daughter's. We did not know what to expect and anticipated the worst. We walked into our room and must have gotten the suite. It was very spacious and our view was right off Shattuck. It was really quaint but not quiet. The hotel sets up for breakfast inside and out very early in the morning. It was very loud with the tables and chairs being moved around. Other than that, we were satisfied with our room. Our room was clean and we had a closet. Yes, it is old, but that is what gives it its charm. Free coffee in the morning for guests.
