Horrible supposed to be part of Best Western hotels should not be, but make it worst Best western doesn’t take accountability for letting them be part of their collection. Was charged 200 extra dollars for my room then said sorry it will take 3 days receive back. When it was my money for my trip then don’t get me started on the breakfast !!! Just stay away and don’t give these people any business.

Comparatively speaking, the price is a steal! The room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. Staff was friendly and accommodating. It was pouring rain when we got there and my clothes got soaking wet. House keeping put them in one of their dryers for me and brought them to our room when they were dry. We had a really pleasant stay and will definitely be back!

This is a conveniently located hotel right on University a few blocks from Berkeley. It has a small parking lot which can be full sometimes but there is street parking as well. The rooms are functional, but nothing special but they are clean and everything works.

Room is Basic in need of TLC. Definitely dated. Had some chipped paint. Light fixture not secure. It was fine for us to sleep overnight. It's a basic motel. Not at all like a typical Best Western. I'm guessing they were recently purchased by Best Western and hopefully upgrades to come soon. The breakfast was grabngo (toast, oatmeal, yogurt, coffee). Staff was friendly and accommodating. Great central location to UC Berkeley about a mile away from campus. We strolled the neighborhood and plenty of places to eat within walking distance. The staff were very kind and friendly which was the best part!

Sather Hotel was fantastic! The rooms were a little small, but they were laid out well such that it didn't bother us. The staff was incredible, including Josh and Sam and the main guy (forgot his name). The location was excellent for our purposes. Breakfast was pretty small, but still very good. I hope to return!

Wednesday June 25, 2025, 01:55 a.m returned to my hotel room and my key is not working nor is anyone in office or reachable by telephone. I will need a full nights refund or an additional nights stay. Nothing but problems since my stay has begun due to lack of communication from the hotel clerks. Constant arguing from a nearby room early each morning, afternoon and night of my stay. Partially cleaned rooms. Over crowded-very little room to walk inside of without bumping into furniture. No room to set up ironing board safely. [ Revisiting post at 0401 a.m, Wednesday 06/25/2025. I am still not able to gain access to my rented room. Still no one inside of office nor reachable via telephone. Sitting inside of a cold car parked on the Hotels parking lot. [Another revisit at 0555 am. At 0540 a.m I exited my daughter's car to f/u with the hotel office staff/caretaker. When about to ring the doorbell, I noticed that the interior door was now closed, fruits and pastries arranged for the 0700 early birds. My first and second attempt to connect with an office staff person; the interior door had been open both times allowing a view into what may be a break broom behind the checkin counter for staff, no pastries; no fruit was visible. Someone had presumably been inside each time ignoring my knocks, doorbell rings and phone calls. Like really. A lone female guest at the early hours being ignored. For what reason am I not able to receive service/assistance. Not able to send an email to Saturly directly. I will forward an email to "Best Western" in addition to contacting the better business bureau. Seeking reimbursement. I am livid.

I travel for work so I see my fair share of hotels and this is my first time ever leaving a review for a hotel. I have never witnessed a more impatient and unkind staff. Please consider staying somewhere else for your own sake. My bathroom hadn’t been cleaned when I got there and there was still urine in the toilet and stains on the sheets. Please find somewhere restful.

Our check in experience went well. The young gentleman was courteous. However, our room floor was filthy and not mopped. It had shoe stains from previous customers and not swept. After talking to the maid, she saw the floor's condition and first claimed it was the type of wood flooring and not dirt and mud stains. After showing her that was not correct, wiped a a piece myself, on the second day she cleaned it and claimed it was the previous day's maid on duty. The furniture, fridge and microwave were fine. However, the bed sheet and comforter both had yellow stains! The room was not dusted well either. In needing a blanket for my daughter, I called the front desk and the older Indian gentleman on duty told me he was busy with checking customers in and told me to go out and look for the maid services door and ask them myself! He was not hospitable by any means. My husband physically went over there, and this time he said we couldn't get a blanket since the maids were gone for the day and he did not have the door code or key! My daughter slept with her full coat on and socks. This is not okay. These two issues really dampened our weekend stay at Berkeley - we flew from Los Angeles snd expected what's advertised on the website regarding cleanliness and service. It would very reasonable to get a credit given these issues. I don't expect that to happen. Be warned if you stay here and bring slippers and your own bedding if you have nowhere else to stay!

Came here a few weeks having booked the hotel a month ahead. At first the man at the counter kept saying he couldn’t find my reservation. I showed it to him and he still couldn’t find it. Spelled out my last name and he still couldn’t find it. Then I told him my first name and he then said my last name as if I hadn’t been saying it the whole entire time. Unprofessional atmosphere and dismissive when I was trying to check in. Rooms were okay, but the AC was loud and the bathroom ventilator wouldn’t shut off. It was just on. There was a weird smell in the room. Location is good, close to the BART station. Highlight of my day was checking out.

the location near UC and BART is good, and parking lot is fantastic. Unfortunately the room smelled like a Lysol bomb went off days ago and hadn't been opened since. Opened the window for a couple of hours to air out but couldn't shake the overwhelm. Had to finally close it, lots of things scurrying in dark outside I was worried a brave rat might jump through the screen. Loved the microwave, fridge, and locksafe. Water pressure was dim, but workable. BYO soap.
